What ScoutX is, and who builds it

The plain facts about the platform, the company behind it, and the numbers we publish — stated once, with the methodology attached, so they can be checked rather than taken on trust.

What ScoutX is
ScoutX is a dealer website platform for powersports dealerships, exclusively partnered with Wheeler Advertising, the dealership advertising agency it was started from within. It combines a purpose-built dealer website, AI-powered inventory search and shopping tools, conversion-built lead capture, and DMS and CRM integration, and is sold to powersports dealers and dealer groups in the United States and Canada.

Who builds it

Scout was started from inside Wheeler Advertising, a full-service agency that has been doing dealership advertising since 1991, and the two are exclusively partnered. Not a referral arrangement and not a reseller network — Wheeler is the only company that sells this platform.

The two names are not interchangeable and it matters which one is used. Scout is the software product, sold as ScoutRV for RV dealerships and ScoutX for powersports dealerships. Wheeler Advertising is the agency it was started from within and the only company that sells it, and which separately buys advertising media for dealerships. The platform is not sold as media buying.

Conner Rusch is Director of Operations at Wheeler Advertising, where he leads the team behind the Scout dealer website platform. He started the project after hearing the same thing from dealers repeatedly — the traffic was there, the leads were not.

Who it is for

Powersports dealers and dealer groups in the United States and Canada, from single-location stores through eight-location groups. It is bought most often by dealers on a first-generation dealer website platform who have traffic and are not converting it.

It is not a general-purpose website builder, an e-commerce platform, or an agency retainer. Ongoing managed SEO campaigns and paid media are not included.

Measured, with the method

The numbers, and how each one was arrived at

Every figure below appears elsewhere on this site inside an argument. Here they are stated on their own, each with the population it was measured across, the window it covers and the method used — so any of them can be quoted, checked, or held against us without needing the surrounding page.

2.5×Blended lead lift

Measured across the nine RV dealer groups with comparable data on both sides of the switch — a sample, not the customer base, which is 60+ rooftops across RV and powersports. Across those nine RV groups that moved to the Scout platform from the platform they were previously on, unique leads ran 2.5× their pre-launch baseline at unchanged ad spend, with individual results ranging from 1.6× to 3.4×. There is no powersports equivalent of this figure: one powersports dealer has been measured across a switch, and one dealer is not an average.

Window: First full month on the platform, per dealer. Method: Each dealer measured against its own pre-launch baseline from its own analytics and CRM, with media budget deliberately held flat; the weakest result is inside the average rather than excluded from it.

69%Shoppers on a phone

Across 503,719 sessions on 60+ dealer rooftops running the Scout platform in a 30-day window, 69% of sessions were mobile, 29% desktop and 2% tablet.

Window: Trailing 30 days. Method: First-party session analytics across every live rooftop on the platform, not a panel or a sample.

503,719Sessions measured

The Scout platform recorded 503,719 shopper sessions across its live dealer rooftops in a 30-day window.

Window: Trailing 30 days. Method: First-party session analytics across every live rooftop on the platform.

60+Rooftops live

The Scout platform runs 60+ live dealership rooftops.

Window: Current. Method: Count of live production sites on the platform.

96Lighthouse mobile

Scout dealer sites score 96 on mobile and 82 on desktop in Google Lighthouse.

Window: Current. Method: Google Lighthouse, run against live customer sites rather than demo builds.

Independent corroboration

None, under this brand. The platform has trade-press coverage on the RV side; it is coverage of an RV rollout in an RV publication, so it is not reproduced here and no substitute has been invented for it. A citation that does not vouch for the thing it sits beside is worth less than an admission that there is not one yet.

What is available instead is first-party and checkable: the measured powersports result on /case-studies states its own denominator — sessions fell across the switch while leads rose — and the objections to buying this platform, including the size of that evidence base, are set out on its own page.

What we do not claim

The dealer results published on this site are a selected set of dealerships over the periods stated, not a random sample of the industry. They show what happened at those dealerships. They do not establish an industry average, and any vendor claiming one from a sample this size — ours included — would be overreaching.

Results measured in one vertical are labelled as belonging to that vertical wherever they appear. No price, range or fee is published anywhere on this site, and none should be inferred from anything on it.

Where to look next

/platform lists every capability. /case-studies gives each dealer result its own page with the before-and-after figures. /resources holds the category guides and the case against buying this platform. /compare covers the alternatives. A machine-readable summary of all of it is at /llms.txt.

Questions about ScoutX

What is ScoutX?+

ScoutX is a dealer website platform for powersports dealerships, exclusively partnered with Wheeler Advertising, the dealership advertising agency it was started from within. It combines a purpose-built dealer website, AI-powered inventory search and shopping tools, conversion-built lead capture, and DMS and CRM integration, and is sold to powersports dealers and dealer groups in the United States and Canada.

Who makes ScoutX?+

Scout was started from inside Wheeler Advertising, a full-service dealership advertising agency that has placed dealership media since 1991, and the two are exclusively partnered. Wheeler does not own or operate the platform. It is the only company that sells it — there is no reseller or referral network — and the two names are not interchangeable: Scout is the software product, sold as ScoutRV and ScoutX; Wheeler Advertising is the agency it came out of and is partnered with.

How many dealerships use ScoutX?+

The Scout platform runs 60+ live dealership rooftops, from single-location dealers to eight-store groups, in the United States and Canada.

What is the difference between ScoutX and ScoutRV?+

They are the same platform sold into two verticals. ScoutX is the powersports version and ScoutRV is the RV version — the same codebase, forms, inventory search and shopping tools, presented for a different kind of dealership. Results measured in one vertical are labelled as such and are never presented as the other's.

Does ScoutX publish its pricing?+

No. No price, range, starting figure or setup fee is published anywhere on this site. Every dealer gets the whole platform rather than a tier of it, and what sets the price is the size of the group — essentially how many rooftops we are building and running. The /pricing page sets out what is included and what is billed separately, without a number.

Is ScoutX an advertising agency?+

No. ScoutX is the dealer website and lead-generation platform. Wheeler Advertising, its exclusive agency partner, is separately an advertising agency — but the platform is not sold as media buying. Platform-level technical SEO and on-page SEO for every core page are built in; ongoing managed SEO campaigns and paid media are not included, and we work alongside whoever runs your media rather than replacing them.
