ScoutX and Lightspeed DMS
Scout reads your units out of Lightspeed automatically. Lightspeed stays exactly as it is — parts, service and accounting are untouched.
How it works
- Inventory flows from your DMS into Scout automatically on a schedule — no exports, no spreadsheets, no re-keying.
- Units arrive with pricing, status, photos and specifications, and changes made in the DMS appear on the site without anyone touching the website.
- Feed health is monitored. If your DMS stops sending, an automated check catches it within hours rather than when a customer calls about a unit you sold last week — a failure mode most powersports dealers have experienced at least once.
- Multi-franchise inventory maps to brand-aware categories, so a store carrying four OEM lines gets four navigable inventory sets rather than one flat list.
- Lightspeed API keys are per dealer, so a group with several accounts is wired store by store.
- Leads can also travel the other way, into Lightspeed CRM over its lead import API — configured separately from the inventory sync.
- Staleness is judged on the date of the feed file itself, not on whether the nightly sync ran. A provider that keeps re-serving the same file makes the sync look healthy while your inventory quietly freezes; that is the case the check is built to catch, and anything over 48 hours raises an alert.

Questions
Lightspeed DMS questions
Does Scout touch our parts and service data?+
No. The sync covers major units. Parts, service and accounting stay entirely inside Lightspeed.
How do multiple franchises come across?+
Make and model map to brand-aware categories and filters, so each line is browsable on its own as well as together.
How quickly do sold units come down?+
Status carries through on the regular sync, so a sold unit stops generating leads promptly.
